Mike McMahon

Mike's 45+ year career started in construction finance at Procter & Gamble, then progressed through project management and senior leadership roles at Jacobs Engineering and Fluor Corporation. In recent years, he has worked extensively as an owner's representative, bringing the perspectives of both major EPC firms and project owners to his work. His experience encompasses projects ranging from approximately $500,000 to more than $3 billion across a broad spectrum of industries in both domestic and international markets. Throughout his career, Mike developed a particular focus on the practices and decisions that distinguish well-executed projects from those that encounter unnecessary cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contractual problems.

He systematically captured lessons, observations, and practical knowledge gained from decades of working with experienced project professionals, mentors, and craftspersons, combining their knowledge with his own project experience. That accumulated knowledge ultimately became the foundation for Beacon by EncompassEPC—a comprehensive project knowledge system designed to bring decades of practical EPC experience to the decisions being made on today's projects. Mike continues to serve as an owner's representative and project advisor.

Chip Mitchell

Chip has over 46 years of experience in engineering, project management, and executive leadership across the chemical, oil and gas, petrochemical, industrial and manufacturing, pharmaceutical, electronics, and semiconductor sectors. Starting as a mechanical engineer, he advanced through project and executive leadership roles, ultimately becoming President of CH2M HILL's Oil, Gas & Chemicals Business Group, overseeing operations, project delivery, and profitability across the energy value chain. Chip emphasizes rigorous planning and attention to detail before execution, aligning directly with Beacon's preventive approach: identify the questions that need answering and the risks that need addressing before they become project problems. He remains an active, sought-after industry consultant.
